How we review and verify

Play Picks is built as a research product, not a list of affiliate links. Our reviews follow a single documented process so you can compare brands on identical fields and trust that every significant fact is either verified or clearly flagged.

The verification process

   Every claim enters a structured ledger with a source and a check date.

   Verify

   A named checker independently confirms or flags each fact against the source.

   Publish

   Only verified facts are marked Verified; the rest are visibly flagged.

The answer-first rule

Every brand review opens with a two-to-four sentence neutral summary. We state what we could confirm and what remains unconfirmed before any detail, so you are never led by a headline that a term sheet later contradicts.

What we check, every time

• Official website and registration flow — the operator's own pages.
• Terms and bonus terms — full material terms, not just the advert.
• Payments and withdrawals — methods, fees, limits and stated processing.
• Licensing — operator entity, regulator and licence number.
• Support — channels and stated hours.
• Responsible gambling — limits, time-outs and self-exclusion tooling.

Verification status

Each significant fact carries a verification status: Verified, Needs verification, Changed recently or Unavailable. A fact is only marked Verified once we have recorded the source, the check date and a named checker. Anything we cannot confirm is marked needs verification rather than presented as fact.

Freshness

Each fact carries a verification time-to-live. When a brand's terms, licence or payments change, the linked pages enter a refresh queue and are re-checked rather than silently left to stale. We store the published date, the editorial update date and the facts-checked date separately, and we never artificially bump the published date.
